All brides do this, because by respecting the ritual left by their mothers and grandmothers implies promoting the Indian cultural heritage and thus contributing to the worldwide cultural inheritance. By complying to this, they worship the gods and thank them for taking care of them, asking for guidance for the rest of their life!
